The project entails the construction of one of the world’s largest breakwaters, with a total length of 7,780 meters and an aggregate placement volume exceeding 20,000,000 tons. This massive volume is distributed across a carefully engineered multi-layer system, beginning with a core layer of materials graded 0–300 kg. Two successive underwater toe layers follow, comprising materials graded 300–1,000 kg and 1,000–3,000 kg, respectively. A crushed stone filter layer has also been integrated to ensure proper internal drainage and structural stability. As part of the final armour layer, we are also responsible for the placement of concrete Xbloc units, designed to provide long-term hydraulic protection and resilience against extreme wave action. The breakwater forms a key element in the ongoing expansion of a major military facility.
