Project Category
The project involves the 350-meter extension of the existing quay, forming part of a broader effort to enhance the port’s capacity and operational capabilities. Executed within a fully operational port environment, the works require precise planning, phasing, and coordination to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing maritime activities.
Construction activities include extensive seabed dredging to achieve the required depths and foundation preparation, followed by the placement of underwater rockfill and the formation of a levelling bed to provide structural stability. A key feature of the project is the fabrication and installation of eleven (11) large-scale reinforced concrete caissons, each weighing approximately 2,000 tons.
